It only took a few decades for the John Madden Company to return to its roots, in a manner of speaking. The Greenwood Village-based commercial development organization has purchased Quebec Court, located at 5700 S. Quebec Street, for a reported $13.1 million. The John Madden Company, a pioneer of development in the Denver south area, was the original developer of the three-story, 140,000 square foot property, and owned the penthouse there. While it is currently considered class B office space, it will not stay that way for long.
“We’re delighted to have this space back under our management,” said Blair Madden Bui, CEO of John Madden Company. “By adding Quebec Court back into the John Madden Company portfolio, we’re able to reconnect with a building John Madden built and reinvigorate it for a new generation of tenants.”
The Quebec Court building, which offers sweeping views of the Front Range, is located in the heart of Greenwood Village within walking distance of The Landmark, the Orchard Light Rail Station and Greenwood Athletic and Tennis Club. Constructed in 1979, it is currently 30 percent occupied. The company intends to deploy its substantial resources and its sustainable company philosophy to renovate the structure, moving it toward green building standards.
“This purchase is also about sustainability in the sense that it’s important to us that John Madden Company’s properties add lasting value to the surrounding community and to the commercial tenants who call it home,” said Madden Bui. “This purchase puts us back in control of that future.”
Colliers International will be leasing Quebec Court on behalf of John Madden Company.
“John Madden Company will be re-inventing the building it originally developed into one that exceeds the desires of the modern office building user,” said Colliers International Principal Robert Whittelsey. “(It’s) an extremely efficient floor plate with marvelous mountain views and natural light.”
Established in the late 1960s, John Madden Company is family-owned and operated. It has built 100 million square feet of projects in Colorado, Nebraska, Arizona, California, Michigan, Wyoming and Iowa. All John Madden Company properties are LEED certified.
